Create the scene described in the verse above. Have one person portray Moses while the others are the Israelites dancing around the golden calf. (You might have them use the dance taught in the âMotivating Movementâ section above.) Encourage the Israelites to create a mood of adoration as they dance around the calf. Moses enters and sees the people dancing. Moses reacts by throwing the tablets to the ground. The Israelites respond to Mosesâ action.
Repeat several times, giving other participants a chance to portray Moses. These repetitions give the group several opportunities to establish more fully both the mood of adoration and their reaction to Mosesâ disapproval.
